The ancient egyptians knew, how to show things by the most representative side to help even the spirits and ghosts to recognize the correct person for their "business" (so that was the most significant, most informative imagery-solution). Cool, but there is one problem with it: That requires more place / pixels in a 2 dimensional sheet or picture to display all the elements of a food or thing. That means, if we don't want our bread to hide behind/below an other slice of bread, we have to place it beside the other, and it will make the illusion of there are more bread where all parts/pixels of the bread are visible. It's my experience.

Nowadays i got the idea to start a new project (dont ask me how many of them exists at this time..). To reconstruct all the location where i lived in my history. My homes -in other words-. So i start it with the latest one, the current one. The dormitory room 125. I use G**gle Sketchup, cause i am not a 3D artist, but this software really does that they tell you in the commercials. Easy to use. The learning curve is just satisfying.

Food-Photo Machine No.1

The machine, that started my whole documentation-obsession at the end of year 2005. I had taken more than 100.000 photos by it. Now it's temporarly out of order. /"zoom error"/. You can see the All food that iwan ate on January, 2008 picture that i captured with this machine also.

I got this camera as a present for Christmas, 2005 by my mother, mAgi.

My mother. She is a scorpion. She was the greatest girl in her classroom. Some hot (black n' white) bikini photos had taken about her at "Augutus 20"-swimming pool with a girl-mate. Her first car was a Fiat 127. Her first job was in a tobacco factory/distribution centre. Her only weakness is cigarette. She lives in Miskolc, (North-Eastern Hungary). She worked as an administrator almost 20 years at the university of Miskolc. Of course she get bored there. In 2006 she decided to fly into Florida and try out air-conditioning business. She is advanced in esoterics, horoscopes and volleyball. She loves Ghymes music. She is a cool mom. She created' me in 1986. Then she divorced from my Father in 1989. She estabilished me a great and fullfilled childship. I wanna thank you here also. Thank you very much, mAgika. And haWe a Happy BirthDay.

Food-Photo Problematics #1

The same is not the same

The same sandwich is on the left and right, but it looks absolutely different when it's opened !

Some ingredients are not visible on the picture, unless i put down the top of the bun-s. Okay, but that's not the typical way that i eat them. So,i have to choose whether i show which ingredients the sandwich consists (on the right), or just show the exact looking of the sandwich that i eat (left side).
Both the left and right side gives us important information... but about two different things, which ain't exist at the same time! So i cannot compress all the information* into one picture. This is a major problem ! What is the correct solution?! I'm afraid, I have several other problems like this one..

*: 'Informative food-documentation': might be the definition of the action, what i do every time, before i eat something.
I try to document my foods on the most logical way, by the way it's not an easy business to keep the reality unchanged in some extreme situations. There are several other problems, which i meet oftenly, during my food-document project.

Piros 50 A

"Piros 50 A" was the name of this well organized hiking on Saturday. It means: 50km long A-stage. "A" means the first 50km of the total 85km route. It was the 6th official performance-hiking in my life. The first one was the same like this, on 29th of October, 2005.The last one was on the 5th of April, 2008 and 50km long one also. My hiking-mate was Álmos, the younger brother of Áron (I.R.O.N) my greatest architect friend, who is in Poland now. So that we named our challenge: "Iron memorial tour". This time we got perfect weather, which means the rain rained only when i wanted it. I started with empty stomach, and felt myself close to have a "black screen" in any moment. Fortunately i didn't Knocked out before time, so we reached Dömös village (Checkpoint at halfway [30km]) at noon. I ate two sandwiches that the organisers gave me. (it is in the fee that we paid at the start of the tour). That tuned me up, and tossed me towards the 35km Checkpoint on the second highest hill of Hungary, the Dobogókő hilltop with brilliant panorama(pictures above and below). There i implanted two fresh young bananas with a beer and wanted to stay there forever %). Soon we started to go down the last 15km-s. (to be continued..)

This is a driving-skill-evolutionary series. Every month we compare our best stage-times and show them here. Synchronized stage-driving on Prospect Ridge, U.S.A, onboard: Subaru Impreza WRC 2000. Car and Stage are always the same.

Additional info: Every friday afternoon we set the wheel, pedals, printed pacenotes (!) and start driving. One is the Pilot, the other is the CO-driver, we are sitting next to each other, but use headphones as real drivers. CAUTION! - We are NOT PRO drivers, -as it seems- but we ARE on it. Hope, this series will show the impovement of our driving-skills as time passes..

CALENDAR : introduction

a concept prototype of iwanwilaga's Bio-Calendar (hungarian version)

I collect huge amount of data from my life, by photographing and noting my daily biological actions such as eating, sleeping, toilet using, yawning, sneezing and so on.
Every time, i occur to do these methods, i take several special* photos of them, which contains the important timedata** and other details. By using these photos, i'm allowed to reconstruct and visualize my history - at any rate - by biological aspect.

THAT IS IWAN'S BIO-CALENDAR How do i imagine this ? There is a calendar-like surface (picture on the top) which shows 1 month at a time, by 24 hours of a day horizontally (as the x axis) and by up to 31 days of a month vertically (y axis). A banch of colorful lines with different longness are representing the time-length of each action i did at that time. Sleeping is green, time spent in front of the computer i yellow and so on..

MULTIMEDIA SURFACE
This calendar would act as a multimedia surface, by moving the cursor over a line or icon, the photo, video, or other source will be displaysed, which that current data belongs to. So that way, we can lookover my whole month without a mouse click.

ONLINE I have to build the straightest way to ensure keeping the life-database online, so i should update it daily and can be checked by anyone who visits my website.

DOING MY LIFE EASIER The reason, why i want to design a software explicitly for my personal data types/formats is the fact, that this kind of documented lifetyle requires extreme capacity and enormous time, which i have only if i find solution for the easiest, fastest and most economic life-data management what can exist (if i want to live a normal life besides). This time, i manage my daily bio-diary by the help of several different softwares and files, like excel, access, photoshop or adobe flash. I want to get the end of this chaos also by developing my universal software. Just like the Google Analytics for website statitics. It should be personal google-like life-analytics application for me, and for all, who wants to note and record some patterns of their life.

TECHNICAL DETAILS I will get this BIO-CALENDAR application to work by using Adobe Flash CS3 - actionscript 3 for creating the user interface, the calendar itself, and PhP + MySQL for storing the data online and get accessible for different kind of users.

*: all kind of action have it's special way to record.
**: meta-data(exif): all digital camera record the values/parameters of the taken photo.

Wikipedia - ONE WAY at a time !

Wikipedia is like Kung Fu (in my estimation), requires an incredible self-discipline. "Try not to surf", "Dont get lost". Not to choose other 3 ways instead of the one you started to walk on. Using Wikipedia is a serious "business" for me, just like using the internet. I will explain it later..

Once
(and not at first) i caught myself on jumping beetween articles by clicking on the links, before even scroll down to the second chapter or to the history of the current article. That's not the best practice, only confuses me. I decided to make stirct rules for myself.

To compensate my 'handicap' i set:

RULE 1 : I HAVE TO READ the current article ALL THROUGH before opening any links from it.

I can open them into new tabs, but only can go to read them when i finished the current article that i am reading.
This causes a long row of new tabs, new articles which are waiting for reading...but in the most cases i just stressing on how much they are, and when will i get time to get the end of the continuosly growing line of articles.

RULE 2 : To create a useful hierarchy in my mind i have to draw an article-tree to see about the main topic and it's subarticles, how they are connected and which thing goes from which.

Greatest washing-up for 22 years ?

It's worthy to mention it, that i live in a dormitory. As we know, living in a dormitory has some special effects in every people's life who once tried it. For example some of us are ready to leave food materials in the dishes after eating - for days, weeks.. The pictures below shows an example of this event. This happens when people doing everything in the summer instead of being at home and having a few hours to keep their living-area clean. So that, it' happened that i suddenly jumped up from my computer and told my room-mate, "Boldy, (his name) now i will do the washing-up, so let's find all the dirty dishes in our area !" (i told this phrase in hungarian of course..) Then we collected everything from the balcon, and from our room. It took me 1 hour and 5 minutes to wash-up everything.

  • 4 cook dishes
  • seweral cutlery
  • 3 dishes i aborted to clean. I simply couldn't do that ! %) (no special equipment)
i used 3 kind of washing sponges. One of them had killed in operation. Some adhesive, gluey creep ended it's lifetime. Not the quantity, .. the quality, that counts! I will never get to know, what kind of materials i succeed to remove from those dishes. Maybe photos help us.

SZiget Statistics Team (SZ.S.T)

I'm pretty good at illogical behavior, like going out, under the burning sun in an antigas suit* in the early afternoon and standing under the strongest sun-power exposing myself to the fatal temperature. We managed to do exactly this at Sziget Festival, Hungary, 14,Aug,2008.

We took apart in a project as 'statistics agents' working around our professor's (János, Szirtes) art-installation. We collected people and asked them to take a seat at a table in front of a video-camera. Meantime we stand behind them and noted some parameters about them. Such as : if he/her Hungarian or not, smoker or not, drunk, excited, or has any extra attributes..

The primal syptom that i observed on myself is the fast acclimatization (readjustment is better word) to the changed climate, to the terminated vaporization of my skin. The first half an hour was critical, of course we got totally sweltered in 2 minutes, however we only wore shorts under the antigas suit. But after 20 minutes the increasing suffering/passion stopped and remained constant. After a while i started to feel myself almost good enough. I drunk only 1.5L all along the time while this suit was on me. My firm belief is that i lost at least twice more water, maybe 3 litres or more !

*: "adequate wear to survive a germ warfare". I bought these suits from a Hungarian, who lived in the USA, when the WTC terror happened, and when everybody bought there this kind of costumes by scare at the panic-time.

"FÁJIV" - our fawourite building

This is an abandoned factory owned by FÁJIV* far ago, near Gyöngyös-city outskirts, East-center Hungary. Me and s0phie fell love into this building and want to buy this land once. It a pleasant idea to convert it into a home with swimming pool and botanic garden on the roof, with opened garage for my Porsche 914 2.0 and s0phie's Mini Cooper (we want to buy them in the future also %) under the houses in the area covered by the columns and legs. There is enough place for a minigolf-court, fishpond and some tennis-court also in the front garden.


The only problem is the location of this complex. It is in Hungary, that's not problem, because we love Hungary whatelse would happen here.. But Hungary is a member of that minor group of countries, who ain't got any sea, gulf or ocean. And aint got some snow flaked high power-hills like the Alps. Thats okay, that the highest point in Hungary is in our neighbourhood (1014meters high peak of Mátra hill). But maybe it should be a bit higher..and a bit well covered by -for example- the Adriatic Sea...

If anybody knows which style and era it had built, please write it down ! (maybe infected by Bauhaus ? :)

FÁJIV: it is an acronym, means: Metropolitan Mineral Water and Ice Works Company. The biggest company who produced the "Bambi" soda in Hungary from 1949 and started to glass Pepsi Cola for us on the 23th of February, 1970)

Transport Tycoon Deluxe - Iwan vs AI

I remember, i first heard about this game in the elevator on the 8th floor of the block of flats where i lived in 1995. One of my school-mate's brother told something about it, while we lifted towards my home to the 10th floor to copy some games onto my PC. Originally they took the "Quarantine" with themselves to play, but before they left, i asked them to leave those few floppy disks with this tycoon game on it at my place ... Something started.

Today, 13 years passed and TT Deluxe edition is still on my computer ( on my ~20th hard disk, i don't count:) So i decided to play a session at "HARD" difficulty. It took me clearly 24 hours (3hours 46minutes average per day for 7 days) to finish this game session overally, without mods and cheats and i don't know what else dirty things. The roll of the game simply the following: me and other 5-6 AI start the rush for profit , after 5-6 years one AI shows some extra activity/income separatly from the others. It's name is "Platown Transport Company" - lets simply call him - YELLOW AI - become my final cutthroat competition !

1.START - 1950-1965 - race

1950 - i start with initial bank loan of 200.000 dollars, that's all i have, it must be enough to set up my first train-route beetween a gold-mine and a local town's bank. At the end of 1951 i own 1 train route and 2 road vehicles.


1954 September - YELLOW AI ("Platown Transport" company) shows up by making a strong start: swiftly achieving 2 subsidies at the same time, (which gains him 50% more income per service) secedes from the main field and keeps leading the side/field in the next (50) years.
1963
April - i buy 25% of YELLOW AI's company by the fear of Yellow AI's growing over me, but i can't wait for that time, i need money for constructions right now, so i have to sell that quarter few months later.

1963 November - i buy 75% (100,681 $) of "Hentown Transport " (an other AI brown colored) - who owns two big airports but run bankrupt and frozen without vehicles. Few months/weeks before i can pay the last quarter to buy the whole company, YELLOW AI is faster than i and buy "Hentown Transport ". Thats a pity, but on the other side he spares me 400.000 dollars, because of the sold company has also a big unpaid bank loan, which Yellow AI's charge to pay back :)
1964 - i (Iwan Wilaga Transport) buy Gunnpoll transport but not realized that it had -400.000 $ bank loan also, so besides i got a few good train routes with mediocre trains, i have to reorganise the transport on those AI constructed routes and pay back somehow that loan.. Otherwise YELLOW AI gets higher surplus and seems taking over the control permanently.


2.DECADE OF DECADENCE 1965-1980

Then i bought a nice amount of debt along with that company.., in the next 10 it will be a main task to reduce the dept in my bank balance and by maintaining my vehicle-fleet, keep up racing with the more and more stronger YELLOW AI. Yes, thats tha main point, if i'm not up to date, my trains going older that YELLOW AI-s ones, that means the end, because with old vehicles i cannot transport goods as fast to target destinations as YELLOW AI, so that he gets more money than i, - because speed EQUALS money - and i never will be able to catch-up to YELLOW AI. Only solution left.. the "AIR-business"..
1966 - since autumn of 1963 (a breakpoint) YELLOW AI makes 3x more income per month than i, thats the first case that makes me feeling myself under real pressure !
1966 December - the coal mine at my first train route closed and don't producing any more coal. Thats an unfortunate turn -another case for missing profit- that i didn't really count with.
1968 November - I build a train line beside another coal-mine which YELLOW AI transports from. So that i drain his business with my shorter and more straight railway. It must work !
1969 June - YELLOW AI transports 2x more cargo than me.
1972 - I build my longest railway from Hetston coal-mines to a power plant in the center of the map.
1976 - YELLOW AI owns 17trains and 7 road vehicles ! I only have 7 trains and 1 bus..
1980 - YELLOW AI keeps 3x more income. He gains 106.000 $ ! My income is only 35.000 $/ month. No good. No, God !

3.CLIMBING BACK TO THE TOP ! 1980-2010 (to the holding company status)

Changing old trains to new ones, rebuild some routes shorter and straighter than before ! Trying to be faster and more efficient than YELLOW AI ! My human brain helped me out from this 'sinkhole' situation. AI doesn't thinking about constructing and planning it's railways enough economic and competitive.
1981 - YELLOW AI is maintaining his first airplane, fortunately the AI cannot plan such economic air-routes, so he produces deficit because the cities he flights beetween are so close to each other, so it not refundable to run airplanes beetween. He doesn't use airplanes for that i love the most in them: the SPEED-DISTANCE-CAPACITY.
1982-84 - i buy new buses instead of the old and wrecky 25+ year old ones, and do the same with some important trains.
1985 February - i start preparing places near main cities for my airports.
1987 October - YELLOW AI's company value is 5.6 x more than my companie's value. He has 22 trains, 13 road vehicles. I have only 8 trains, but i have a crowded airplane, hahaa ! %)
1987 December - My biggest airport finished at the center of "Chardworth Falls"-city !
1996 December - Air crash, i lost 1 of the 3 planes i have. More than 200 people dies. Fortunately business keeps running. I have 2 airplanes and 7 airports on the map !
1997 December - YELLOW AI buys a Concorde ("Yate Haugan") airplane which is a big weapon if somebody can use it, but AI seems cannot use it, because he sends it into little towns, and it produces only deficit by standing at one place and loading passengers instead of flying flying flying.
1998 - Meantime my 3 airplanes are working on high performance, and gaining enough money to me for replace my whole train-fleet to the fastest-newest ones.
1999 May - slowly my company's operating income starts catching up to YELLOW-AI, so that in the past 1.5 years term i tripled my income.
1999 October - I have only 4 planes, but an increasing company value, YELLOW AI is still 4.6x more valuable company than my one.
2000 Jun - Historical moment, my operating profit reaches YELLOW AI's profit first time, since March of 1965. Well, 35 years passed, but i am here again, stepping out from the shadow of YELLOW AI to take my revenge !
2002 Oct - I bought a Concorde Jet plane for 3,704,090 $ (i spared money for at least 2 years, and borrowed all the loan that bank allows)
2005 Oct - YELLOW AI's company value is only 2.3 X more than my one ! It halfed in 6 years !
2006 March - i build my first monorail-route beetween two main cities.
2006 August - My operating profit is 2X more than YELLOW AI's one. Thanks to my Airline business and the railway reconstructions.
2009 December - now i take over YELLOW AI in delivered cargo units, first for the past 50 years i deliver more cargo than YELLOW AI.

4.MERGE 2011jul-2016may (iwan finally beats YELLOW AI)

2011 July - I buy the first quarter if YELLOW AI's company. At this time my company value is 33Million $, while YELLOW AI is 38M dollars. (only 1.3X richer than i )
2013 September - i buy the second quarter of YELLOW... so i owe 50% of him now %))
2015 March - 75% is mine.. " Hey, you, YELLOW ! prepare for retirement" !
2016 May - finally i bought YELLOW AI. Terror is ower.. Sun goes out from the dark clouds.. and music turns on. I have 34 years left to continue with my em
pire until 2050. Now i have 26 trains, 37 road vehicles, 17 aircraft and a company value of 67,448,874 dollars. It's good for me.



5.EXPOSITION - company for the endless future...

In the next 28 years the all i do is modernizing my existing infrastructure, building some more magLev-routes, and watching how the map is buiding and blooming like an organic root-system, how cities "puffing up" and how income flowes into my account in a kind of exponential way.
2022 - First magLev train has built by me.
2050 January - my bank balance is 865,665,952 $, i am an owner of 39 trains, 56 road vehicles, 25 aircraft 25 airports and a happy owner of a company by the value of 1,112,033,448 f*ckin' million green bucks !
